Admission Process Admission to OLP begins with an application. Students entering Pre-Kindergarden and Kindergarten will be asked to provide an original birth certificate, a social security card, Baptismal certificate, and immunization records, and take a placement test or participate in a readiness screening and a simple interview with the principal. Acceptance will be based upon the school's evaluation of these requirements. Students applying for OLP in grades 1-6 will be asked to submit an original birth certificate, a social security card, Baptismal certificate, and immunization records, take a placement test, and be interviewed by the principal. They must provide a transcript of their grades and standardized test scores. Following the interview and evaluation of these materials, the parent will be notified about the status of admission. Normally, students will not be accepted into grades 7 and 8, unless the family has relocated and the child previously attended a Catholic school.
Application Papers An Archdiocesan application form must be filled out by the parent/guardian, along with a student information sheet.
Documents The following documents must be presented at the time of application: -Original birth certificate -Baptismal certificate -Immunization records -Social Security Card -Records from last school (if applicable) -A copy of the child's IEP (if applicable) -Proof of U.S. citizenship (if applicable)
Interview Either the interview will take place on the day the family tours the school or by appointment with the principal and/or a staff member from OLP. At this time, a Reading, Writing, and Math assessment may be administered.
Application Fee $25.00 (non-refundable) for new admissions, due at time of application
Acceptance A letter will be sent to the parent/guardian of the applicant indicating official acceptance and the date of admission. The parent may then officially register the child at Our Lady of Pompeii School.
