Students participate in the Kindergarden Graduation Ceremony
Pre-School and Kindergarden Graduations

Each June, the students in our Early Childhood Program prepare to move up a grade by showing off what they've learned at their individual graduations.  The Pre-K3s and 4s have their own special ceremony where they perform some of their favorite songs for their parents on the stage.  The Kindergardeners receive their official diplomas that officially make them Elementary School students.

8th Grade Graduation

Each year the OLP 8th graders participate in several special activities to commemorate their years here.

In the fall, they prepare for the TACHS Exam by taking preparatory classes and practice tests.  During this time the 8th graders are also visiting and visited by several different high schools in order to narrow their choices.  Finally, students apply to those high schools that appeal to them most.  During this time, students also prepare for their Ring Ceremony where their parents accompany them onto the altar to bestow on them their OLP ring.

Around the end of January students begin to receive letters of acceptance from the different high schools.  At this time, high schools and several different organizations are sending word to OLP to grant scholarships and several awards to our graduates.

The 8th graders are also in charge of preparing and participating in the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Mass and the May Crowning.  In the Spring, the 8th graders choose one of their peers who best represents the virtues of the Blessed Mother and name her May Queen.  The chosen Queen has the honor of crowning Mary at the May Crowning Ceremony.

In June, 8th graders take final exams one week before the rest of the school.  Their final week consists of 1/2 days that allow them time to  prepare with Ms. Howe, Sister Maureen, and Father John for their school Graduation Mass and the evening Graduation Ceremony.  At this ceremony the scholarships and awards are given.

At the 2008 graduation, over $500,000 in scholarships were awarded to our graduates and over 50 additional awards were given out.

Father John and Sister Maureen personally congratulate each graduate at the evening Graduation Ceremony
